StepBack is private by architecture. It does not operate an account service, advertising service, analytics service, or third-party backend.
The app stores the workouts you create, routines and weekly plans you compose, player settings, and session history used for honest activity statistics. This information stays on your devices and, when iCloud sync is available, in your private iCloud database.
StepBack does not collect calories, body measurements, HealthKit data, camera data, or location data.
If enabled and available, Apple's CloudKit service syncs app data through your private iCloud account. Apple provides and governs that service under its own terms and privacy policy. StepBack makes no other network connections.
The Mac app can expose an app-owned local folder so a tool you choose can propose custom workouts, routines, and weekly plans. This bridge uses the local filesystem only. External tools cannot write directly to the app database; the app validates every command and remains the sole persistence writer. The bridge intentionally provides no delete command.
Any privacy behavior of an agent or tool you separately choose is governed by that tool. Review proposed changes before confirming them.
StepBack does not track you, profile you, sell data, serve ads, or share workout activity with the developer or data brokers.
You can edit or delete custom workouts, routines, and plans through the app. Session history is retained for activity statistics. Removing the app and its iCloud data through Apple's system controls removes data under those controls.
