[Question] Input from something other than keys. #4

Hi, I'm trying to make a Discord Bot that will allow people to play the emulator from Discord, with it updating a picture every so often and taking inputs from the sent discord messages. My question is how can I change the input structure to integrate this?
I've got the bot fully functional other than this, and I made a branch of the project where it runs on a separate thread which hasn't caused any problems unless I start the thread before opening a ROM.
