DELETE Endpoint status code

Currently, the DELETE endpoint returns the value that's associated with the requested key, and returns response code 200 upon successful deletion.
From my familiarity, a DELETE endpoint may also return no response body, and a 204 response code.
What's your take on this?
I'm referring to - HTTP 204

It can be both.
204 if you do not want return something or 200 if you want return something.
204 is just most used for company APIs.
