apk and compatibility

Hello,

looking for a way to play music from my android phone to an airplay receiver I stumbled over your project. Since I am not familiar with buidling software for android, I would like to ask you

• if you could make the *.apk available for download?
• does peeler work?
• does peeler support non-apple receivers like shairport?

Sorry for the late response

I believe it works but to be honest I haven't used it for a good few years. It seems some others have forked and tested it and at least got it running

I could provide an APK but from memory it's not in a state for general use. It streams fine but it has no media transcoding (only plays WAV files basically), so you have to pre-transcode anything you want to play. That's not feasible for most people. An MP3 transcoder at least shouldn't be too hard to add, I just didn't get round to it and don't have an Android device to make me want to continue development

As for shairport support, I don't know. I've only tested an older Airport Express. peeler uses the v1 Airport protocol so theoretically it should support anything

To try it out yourself, just download the Android SDK, load the project, and then compile it. There are plenty of easy guides for that part so you should have no trouble doing it yourself
