Surface R2 Data Catalog compaction frequency

I have an R2 Data Catalog table that I want compacted, it has more than 5000 very small files. I turned on compaction >24 hours ago but there's no change yet. It'd be very nice to know what the expected frequency of compaction is, would that be possible. I haven't been able to find this in the docs or in the config (wrangler pipelines sinks get).
