Blockquotes are not easy enough to distinguish from normal text

Simply indenting the text is not enough visual distinction, and most places with blockquotes will add some leading "line" to make it visually identifiable. Something like the example below seems more appropriate than just padding out a large amount of space.

Not from what I've seen, but I admittedly haven't done a lot of research on this front yet.

It's an extremely ugly kludge that runs through the HTML to separate out blockquote text and lays it out as

For the library I will look for something significantly less hacky, this was just a stopgap measure for my app.

Unfortunately, this library doesn't transform paragraphs into a tree of composables, it's designed to exclusively work with AnnotatedString.
I don't think there is any way today to draw decorations around a paragraph inside an AnnotatedString, but if you find one feel free to share it. I know you can draw content using InlineTextContent, but this kind of content is drawn inline and not around the text or paragraph so can't be used for this kind of decoration.

Could you add the ability to change the paragraph background color and/or font for blockquote and code? I think that's within the scope of annotatedString.

@dgmltn AnnotatedString has ParagraphStyle and SpanStyle.

• ParagraphStyle is used to separate and indent text blocks and configure text layout and has no support for colors.
• SpanStyle is for text styling only and does support color. Currently this library supports foreground and background colors for all inline HTML tags, which are implemented using SpanStyle. That includes the <code> tag. If you want to add color support for block tags like blockquote, you'd have to add an inline tag like <span> inside the block, but the background color of the block itself can't be changed.

I plan to add annotations around quotes, so it will at least be possible to retrieve the boundaries of the quote to allow drawing decorations or colors behind it, but this will not be handled by this library itself.
