Reason for deferral
Same as #197 — release-review PR CI only allows changes to CHANGELOG.md, CHANGELOG/, README.md; deleting these files needs a master PR. Time constraints require launching this release ASAP; not critical (obsolete docs, no consumer impact). Will address in a follow-up master PR in the coming weeks/months, with new approvals/re-review and a new snapshot.
