Output doesn't open when clicked from web UI

I think this is caused by funky characters or terminal escape codes in the output of jobs.  If I modify the output files, it goes away.

Sometimes when I click on the job output in the web UI, the tab opens and then the browser immediately closes it again.

I accidentally deleted the file that reproduces the issue.
