This was a comment by a trainer and I think it has a point cause I experience it similar sometimes. Best would be to let the trainer decide if student's patterns are public or hidden.
"I have a question about groups. Is it possible for designs stored in groups to be ‘unshared’ as an option when the user is created? I’ve noticed that children often put their names into their design, and would like to ensure they are anonymous. I know I can go in and unshare them individually."
