Performance issue (lags and stutters in 1080p/4K)

Configured wled today with your app and it works fine but in youtube/kodi the performance hit is massive - anything above 720p lags and stutters horribly..

This also happens with original abandoned grabber:
abrenoch/hyperion-android-grabber#205

Any chance of making the grabber works using less cpu/memory intensive FlatBuffers instead of Protobuf?

I have this problem too on TCL C7K (Pentatonic 700). With streaming turned off only up to 1080p video could play normally. 2k/4k unplayable:(

I still can't even get 1080p without lags sadly. The thing is most manufacturers cut costs by using as cheap CPU as possible to just barely play 4K and not much more. No headroom for caputre where youtube can use 90% of cpu...

No wonder the only cases where I saw hyperion-android working perfectly was on nvidia shield tv.

yeah sure, i mean yeah the only way i was ever able to get an yimprovement was using a second box, 1080p content worked fine but anymore was questionable.

Im still getting lagg for 2k and 4k, using hyper HDR. and on sony tv bravia x80 the app icon is not showing.

@mhackdo18 You can try the universal ambient light application, with a screen capture mode in the settings that is different from MediaProjection. It works on some TVs.

This one is even newer and don't need external server to process the image. Sadly for me there was no improvement in performance at all.

Hi, sorry I dont get it what kind of capturing methos I used the latest version, and I switch from protobuf to flatbuffer which I guess a faster one
