Fail if directory does not exist/permission denied #30

Description

@jacwah

I was trying to generate a package using this package-generator, but it wasn't working properly. It took me quite a while to figure out why as there was no error or warning message or anything in the dev console.

today - -home-jacawh-code-today - atom_007

The problem was that I had misspelled the Project Home setting, which apparently hasn't been used by any package before this. The way I figured this out was by trying to save the file that was opened and being met with the message "Unable to save file: Permission denied '/home/jacawh'". The message was puzzling at first before I spotted the spelling mistake.

The expected behavior is to report the failure to create the package even before opening the new window.

package-generator error

I am running Linux Mint and Atom 1.0.7.
