Searching in main places window does not search, brings you to 'Searching Nearby'

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Start app, be in main screen
2.Menu -> Search

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Search bar should come up. Instead it shows Nearby venues. To search you need 
to click search again, so you have to click it twice to do text search. This is 
confusing. If you want the nearby page, there should be an option to 'show 
nearby' or something like that. When you click search you expect to search.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2010-10-05
Android ver. 2.2

i believe this has been around since the ui redesign in market v2010-09-30
