Presentation Strategy
Developers and security engineers are the target audience. They need to trust the leaderboard numbers (hence contamination-resistance) and they need to understand the security implications for their teams. Two separate narratives: one for the ML researcher community (the benchmark paper), one for the security/engineering community (the vulnerability report).
Deliverables
1. Public Leaderboard
- Primary column: security-adjusted pass@k alongside functional pass@k
- Show the gap prominently — models where the two scores diverge most are the story
- Include cost-per-solved-task column for budget-conscious practitioners
- Continuous collection: add new tasks monthly to fight contamination
2. Security Vulnerability Report
- Format: annual "State of AI Code Security" report (analogous to Veracode's annual report)
- Title: "The Hidden Security Cost of AI Code Generation: A Benchmark Study"
- Target audience: CISOs, AppSec teams, engineering leaders
- Distribution: Black Hat / DEF CON talk abstract, CISA advisory
3. Developer Tooling Integration
- GitHub Action:
codebench-security-check — runs security-adjusted evaluation on a PR
- VS Code extension integration (as a metric alongside Copilot suggestions)
- API for vendors (Copilot, Cursor, Devin) to run continuous benchmarking
4. Academic Presentation
- ICSE demo track: live contamination detection + security scoring demo
- SWE-bench Verified workshop: present contamination findings
