Main image grid not appearing (in image_classifier branch)

When running the application from the image_classifer branch, the main image grid doesn't appear, its just a blank screen (see screenshot below).
Using python 3.11 and tensorflow 2.16.1.
To recreate:

1. start server
2. start client, image grid is missing
