Cannot Set Up Catalog

So I've set up the server, gotten through the install process, but when I set up my catalog as /home/user/Music, it doesn't load any songs. If I try creating a catalog as /home/user/Music/Artist I get a "folder cannot be read" error. I've tried setting the permissions according to the documentation here and on the main wiki, but so far, nothing has worked. Is there some obvious step I missed?

have you mounted the folder inside the container as a volume?

Having slept and watched a few videos, I think I found my mistake, though I haven't had a chance to test it yet and see if I'm right. I think my mistake was this: in the yml file, I set the media path as "/media:/home/user/Music". I believe, if I've understood things correctly, that I was supposed to set it as "/home/user/Music:/media
