Expose SKILL.md

It's a known recommended practice these days to prefer CLI tools over MCPs since MCPs take lots of the context window.
But, I wasn't sure if my Claude Code will know how to use the new Alpaca CLI utility, which the MCP provides a list of tools.
In addition, I have noticed you do have some SKILL.md in your repo but I think it's not included in the brew package for Mac (brew list alpacahq/tap/cli) so I set to create something.

I gave my Claude a task - to create SKILL.md for itself, based on the linked skill file.

It created the attached SKILL.md. I thought it might be a good starter skill file to distribute with the CLI tool, passing it forward to you.

Good idea, let me look into this. Maybe something like an alpaca skills install command in the CLI itself can offer this functionality.

Implementation ready on a fork

I built this feature and have it ready to merge. The implementation is on sanjudo90/cli at branch feat/skills-install.

What was built

alpaca skills install           # installs to ~/.claude/skills/
alpaca skills install --force   # overwrite existing files
alpaca skills install --dest ./.claude/skills   # project-scoped
alpaca skills install --name alpaca-cli         # single skill only
alpaca skills list              # list all bundled skills (JSON)

Key design points:

• go:embed bundles the SKILL.md files — no network call needed at install time
• make sync-skills keeps internal/cmd/skills_assets/ in sync with .agents/skills/ (the canonical author location)
• JSON output matches the rest of the CLI’s contract
• CLAUDE_SKILLS_DIR env override for tests / project-scoped installs
• No auth required — skills is added to the skip-auth list
• 9 test cases, all passing

Files changed: internal/cmd/skills.go, internal/cmd/skills_test.go, internal/cmd/root.go, Makefile, plus the embedded assets.

Happy to do any adjustments — just let me know if you want me to squash commits, rename anything, or add a CLAUDE_PROJECTS_DIR fallback as well.
