Saving an 12 bit frame as png or tiff

hi, as the camera provides up to 12 bit images, i want to know how to save these images.
I tried using opencv, but opencv does not support 12 bit images. How do i change or scale the frame of the camera to 16 bit for saving it as a png or tiff?

there is no function as part of the camera or SDK. You can scale the pixel values to 16bit values once the frame with 12bit pixel values has arrived on the host. If you do not scale the values, the image will be very dark if it is just saved as 16bit.
It's the same principle as in this VimbaPython issue: alliedvision/VimbaPython#176

Hi @fkrummel28, you can easily achieve this by doing

for frame in cam.get_frame_generator(limit=10):
    img = frame.convert_pixel_format(vmb.PixelFormat.Mono16).as_numpy_ndarray()

From there, you can use tifffile.imwrite tifffile lib to save your numpy array as tiff file.
