On the German keyboard you need to use the AltGr modifier to input @, , [], {} etc.
Looks like somehow these keys get prefixed by an ESC withe the cosmopolitan lib.
When running interactive programs like bash, vi, emacs this renders them effectively impossible to use, especially vi.
