Welcome to the Code Viewer community! π
Before opening a new issue, please check if your question is answered here.
π‘οΈ Q: Is my code safe?
A: Yes, absolutely.
Code Viewer is a purely offline app. All network traffic happens directly between your device and your Git
provider (GitHub/GitLab/etc.).
We do not have any backend servers, and we never collect your code or credentials. Your data stays securely on
your phone.
π Q: Can I push code to remote?
A: No.
Code Viewer is explicitly designed for Code Reading (Clone, Pull, Switch Branch).
We focus on providing the best reading experience on mobile. Writing features (Commit/Push) are not part of our
design goals.
π Q: How do I access Private Repos?
A: When you try to clone a private repository URL, the app will automatically prompt you for authentication if
needed.
You can also manage your Personal Access Tokens (PAT) in Settings -> Credentials.
Again, these credentials are encrypted locally on your device and are never sent to any third-party server.
