Referring to the https://github.com/WhiteHouse/api-standards#error-handling section, it is great that the WH API standards promote helpful error messages for developers who consume the APIs. Have you considered adopting the [IETF API-Problem specification](http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-nottingham-http-problem-02)? It appears to be similar in goals to what WH is trying to do, but it might be good to adopt a standard response format. There is a relevant blog post at http://www.mnot.net/blog/2013/05/15/http_problem, and there is some PHP tooling around the spec at https://github.com/Crell/ApiProblem. Thanks! Chris
