Distribute as flatpak via flathub.org

It would be quite nice to be able to install the UHK Agent from flathub.org, so please consider creating a flatpak of this an upload it there.

Ok, that is closed already and for no other reason than you do not have resources to spend. And I understand that, and I could have been more clear about my reasons for wanting a flatpak. While appinages are easy to install and execute on the commandline, they are difficult to discover, you have to chmod them manually. If you want to have any desktop integration you have to write your own .desktop file by hand and locate some nice icon by doing some googling. You also need to know where to put these files. So, as you see, Appimages are not that easy to work with as people tend to say.

With Flatpaks on flathup, you just search for them in Gnome Software, press install and then you can start it. Quite a different user experience. So even if you do not have resources right now, I think it serves a point to have this bug open if you ever find some extra time to spend.

Well articulated reasons. So much so that I'm reopening this issue and we'll give it a shot. Thanks for elaborating on the above.

Interested in this one myself, as UHK at the moment is the only AppImage on my system and it constantly seems to complain of Javascript errors, as well as not being integrated with the package-manager/system as a whole (as Flatpaks, and even Snaps(!) are).

I do appreciate that this can seem like extra effort when an AppImage already exists, but I feel like Flatpak is a more universally accessible format, and distribution (via Flathub) should hopefully be trivial.

But yes, commenting to watch.

Edit: Just noticed that UHK's agent software isn't open source, it appears to be source-available; while this is a shame, it shouldn't preclude Flatpak distribution.
