On Jetson, we have spaces for ribbon cables, using these:
Benifit: Bypass usb hub, (not limited throughput). Singular per camera, each camera won't mess eachother up. There are only 2 spots for ribon cables.

Another thing: GMSL adapter
$600 - GMSL Adapter
2 ribbon cables + DC power -> 4 coax ports for cameras.
We would then need coax cameras. These should be way more reliable. Whole USB controller on linux is just bad.
Might be some workarounds for usb controllers... Need to look at ratest and stuff. Raw feed from camera -> compressing on board. Fully skips CPU.
Total cost: A lot ($3000 - $4000 for 4 cameras)

We could do a mix... Once we see one works well, then we commit to buying all 4.
