1% Lows and AVG FPS don't show and GPU fans don't spin

Hey,

To show average fps and the 1% Lows you must "Start" the benchmark using your assigned hotkey which you may have to setup in the HotkeyHandler like so,

As you can see I use Page Up and Page Down to Start and Stop the benchmark. Once setup, when you press your assigned "Begin recording" hotkey, the "Start" box should then count up and the average and 1% Low sensors should work.

Hey, I apoloogize for not being very active as of late. I will try and help you set this up.

The fan speed animation depends on the "GPU1 fan speed" sensor from the Internal HAL data provider. Here's an example:

Now, with laptaps, this may not be the correct sensor name and therefore the animation will not function.

I would recommend checking what HAL sensors you do have for your laptop which show > than 0% (and not N/A) from the list. Once you can identify a sensor that your laptop uses for fan speed %, then you simply need to Add those sensors, and then change the corresponding Timer sensors Correction formula which control the GPU fan animation.

Refer to the example photo below,

as you can see there are two separate sensors control the fans, they are also named Fan Speed CW (CW= Clockwise / CCW = Counter Clockwise)

You are now going to change the incorrect sensor (the default fan % sensor which does not work for some laptops) with a fan speed % sensor that works with your laptop,

Note: the 3-fan gpu design is based on the Asus Astral 5090 design therefore the fans spin both clockwise and counter-clockwise, you should update the fan speed % sensor name for both Timer sensors.

Let me know if you still need help I will reply as soon as I can. Also I plan on releasing new version in the future which are focused on maintaining these designs but simplifying all logic to be as basic as possible as a lightweight version! Hope you enjoy!

Also, I do apologize, I see you are using the old overlay, therefore you would need to edit Animation Timer 1 and 5

So in summary, Add working fan speed % sensors to the overlay, then edit the Animation Timer sensors to utilize the new sensors, not the GPU1 fan speed sensors which may not work with some laptops.

Sooo, the only sensor of mine showing any fan speed is HWINFO64's with 2,400RPM. I am on a laptop too as you guessed it. ASUS ROG G14 (2025) 5070Ti version. I have to say. I tried going through the steps you explained, and I failed the test, lol. I can't figure it out. I apologize.

My internal Hal is showing GPU1 fan speed 0.0% (when I click setup and scroll down, checking from the overlay Data sources ---> edit ---> add then I'm using the drop box to check the Internal HAL, and HWINFO info.

would you mind sharing some screenshots ((Win + Shift + S) and then Crtl + V to paste it into the github comment box) of which sensors you see for your GPU fan for Internal HAL, MSI Afterburner and HWiNFO please, if you have RPM sensor then it can still work but % speed is preferred.

This is good because i might be able to add support for this in the overlay if I can figure out the sensor names for which sensors work for certain laptops, so that users won't need to manually set it up 🚀

I have to admit, and this was prior before going through your setup instructions...- I uninstalled MSI Afterburner after getting RTSS from it. Do you think that's the issue?
