Move Background Boxes

Awesome work Troy.

How do you move the fancy 1010101 box?

Using a secondary 14 inch bar display, similar to the Corsair Xeon Edge, with a 3840x1100 resolution. Would like to make a 3 column 1080p versions that is easier to see.

Have not been able to figured out how to move those beautiful animated backgrounds.

Hey, there are a couple of ways to do this.

One option is to locate the layer named "CPU - Icon - Binary Code FX" and edit its Position tags, which are currently set to <P=132,296> and <P=171,296>. You can change these to any new positions you want. I’ve predefined positions for certain layers to help prevent accidental edits.

Alternatively, you can simply delete the Position tags entirely. Once they’re removed, you’ll be able to freely move the layer wherever you need. The layers hidden off to the right are the ones with locked positions.

Oh wait — if you’re asking about the module BG panels as a whole, those are also using Position tags in the same way described above.

In this case it’s a bit more complicated due to the FrameTime module box design. It has no overlap and relies on a sprite that contains the negative space used to form the pill shape. Because of this, it may actually be quicker to remake the background boxes from scratch and then add Position tags after you manually move the layer to where you want it.

At the bottom of the Overlay Editor, you’ll see Pos (x,y). You can use those values to define the position directly in the layer’s Hypertext field if you wish. For background elements, I prefer this approach so that when editing or moving sensor layers, the background can’t be accidentally selected or moved — though this is just a personal preference.
