Video Compression Freezes

I'm on Windows 10, and for some reason, when I try to compress a video, it stays stuck on wherever it is.

It is also happening to me, it gets stuck on 2% or 10% of the total progress

Revert to version 2.1 (HERE). For some reason version 2.2 always freezes.

It just freezes and holds all memory it was using at the time of conversion

Ran into this issue as well using version 2.2.
I tested a couple different setting and it seems to be related to the time of the task. Whenever I make a conversion, the progress starts without any time remaining shown, but once that appears, it usually freezes within a second.

I tested with both different settings on the same video and specific settings on different videos.
Anytime the process would take long enough for a time value to appear under the progress bar, it would consistently freeze, holding the memory as reported up here (have to manually kill the ffmpeg task).

Here are some of the setup for the tests I ran:

• Convert a 30 second MP4 video into MKV format using an ffmpeg custom command with libx264, veryslow preset, no audio.
  "-c:v libx264 -preset veryslow -an"
  This process would end up freezing.

• Convert the same exact video with the same command, except using slow preset.
  "-c:v libx264 -preset slow -an"
  This process was fast enough to complete before the remaining time appeared.

• Convert a 3 second MP4 video into MKV format using the veryslow preset.
  "-c:v libx264 -preset veryslow -an"
  This process succeded as well, taking about 2 second total to process.
