Also might be good to use const in the README so it doesn't encourage new users to JS to use it?

Can confirm the same thing happens on Linux (PopOS), so i reckon it's a race condition, by the time wake is called, the sleep process (as in the actual process to make the OS sleep) isn't completely finished yet?

Saw you use setTimeout in tests, and i believe that would be required, and the lowest interval ive found for it to work is 100, eg

displayControl.sleep()
setTimeout(() => {
  displayControl.wake()
}, 100)
