Get simulation working

Simulation worked last year, Levi's got it running in a fork, and Nolan has it almost there in main.  This issue is to remind us to chase this down and make it work fully in main, since it will make testing other driving features much easier.

Should we also (re) activate the "scope" thing that showed us what all the wheels were doing?  Worked last year, forget the exact name.
