1. Will this project work with SMS Gateways? (ie, sending a text email to a phone number)
2. Will this work with geojson (with a bit of modification) of is it too different from rss?

Will this project work with SMS Gateways?

The only thing implemented is IMAP. To send via SMS, you'd have to replace output/sender.py with something that spoke SMS instead of IMAP.

Will this work with geojson

I'm not familiar with geojson, but it looks like it's a file format? There's no support for this right now, but there are a number of alternatives in feeders/. You likely just have to implement another Python file here capable of parsing geojson and yielding entries.
