Ctypes Vs Instrospection

Hello,

I'm trying to get a camera working with the python-aravis library and I've been having some issues with converting the cytpes buffer into a python array.  This led me to my question: why does python-aravis use introspection rather than the ctypes library?  Are there some limitations to using the ctypes version?
