FUOTA Support

It has been noted that FUOTA is not supported in latest releases.
I know that it was supported by Actility, but we have been looking to support FUOTA for years in our use case where Actility Thingpark is not an option.

Is there any plans to support FUOTA in the future in a more open way?

We use MultiTech gateways, so to be able to do it from there would be ideal for us, but something like chirp stack could also be an option.

Regarding your request, our team confirms that the FUOTA application was tested using Actility’s ThingPark as the LoRaWAN Network Server. However, it is based on standard LoRaWAN/FUOTA mechanisms and is not tied to Actility-specific features. This means it can also work with other LNS solutions such as ChirpStack.

If you encounter any technical limitations or issues when using ChirpStack, please share the details with us for further analysis.

Hey @KRASTM The latest versions of your STM32WL firmware 1.5.0 states that "FUOTA is not supported" in the LoRaWAN Middleware release notes V1.0.2 / 03-Feb-2026, is this incorrect?
The FUOTA project example has been removed in STM32WL firmware 1.5.0, is it going to be re-added?

For context, after giving up trying to get FUOTA to work with STM32WL firmware 1.3.1/1.4.0 + MultiTech NS or ChirpStack NS we are looking to engage a 3rd party to update your driver to work with MultiTech NS. If we get them to get the last version with a FUOTA example (v1.4.0) we will be likely stuck on that version going forward.
