I use protonmail on iOS and through web interface. The problem concerns notifications/badge updates for certain events, like new e-mail being read or deleted.
| event / web interface |
iOS notification |
iOS badge |
| new e-mail arrived |
OK |
OK |
| e-mail read in web interface |
notification still active |
badge not updated |
| e-mail deleted in web interface |
notification disappears |
badge not updated |
Is it intended behavior to limit number of iOS push events to limit costs? Seems strange otherwise. Notification should be active only when message is not read yet. Same for badge - it should provide information about unread e-mails only. Even if it's about limiting number of pushes, deletion event is definitely pushed to iOS (notification disappears), but badge is not updated.
