Please help me, I really want to remaster this game by replacing the textures with high-quality ai upscaling
I unpacked the archive using dfs-tool, then packed it back using the same tool, but the character keeps falling and the screen turns black
The archive weighs 23584 kilobytes before unpacking, and 23562 kilobytes after unpacking and re-packing.

The original DFS assets are packed with an absolute path:

��������µ�|�����C:\GAMEDATA\A51\RELEASE\PC\�

This path is written directly inside the .DFS archives. The problem is that when reading DFS archives, the game loads textures, meshes, and other assets using this path. For example:

C:\GAMEDATA\A51\RELEASE\PC\PHOTO.XBMP

The issue with this packer is that it does not include this absolute path when packing. That's why the game can't find your assets in the archive.

Andrewmd5, could you remove the 512 texture resolution limit? I would like to use 2k or 4k textures.

The image resolution limit is in the engine, not in this tool. They are different things.
