What progress has been made on compiling Area 51 on Windows 11?

I'm currently in the process of getting Visual Studio 2003 in an attempt to get it to compile at all before moving to getting it to work in Visual Studio 2022. It'd be nice to know if anyone has gotten further than me.

Myself and a few others have taken a crack at it with no luck. Lots of build errors related to reference projects not being found and objects being missing. Someone I contracted claimed to have gotten it building but never delivered.

I assume the migration the original developer attempted to VS 2015 messed up something, so reverting that might allow it to build on the correct / initial version of Visual Studio it was developed with. Once a Win32 build is producible, carefully migrating to VS 2022 seems possible.

Unfortunately, I only have an M3 MacBook so I'm unable to try and fix the build myself at this time; I am willing to start a bounty pool since it might take some time to make some progress.

Once the game is in a buildable state I am willing to dedicate more time & resources to the project (CI, assets, 64-bit, etc.)

I'm going through the entire project still. I succeeded in getting the two project references to load, but the remaining 13 still have a lot of references to PS2 and XBOX utilities and libraries that are causing the solution to fail to build.

I also had to set the environment variable X to the xCore folder.

It feels like slow progress, but it's definitely doable.
