Question about version server to client version compat.

So this is highly niche thing. But here we go.
I have 1.21.11 Client -> Velocity -> Fabric with Voxy Server 1.1.5 (Everything works as intended)
I have 26.1.2 Client with Voxy Server 1.2.1 -> ViaFabricPlus on client -> Velocity -> Fabric with Voxy Server 1.1.5 (We get a version mismatch)

Would it be somehow possible in the future to make this work between minor version changes?
I thought it should be fine as long as data being passed across is formatted in the same way. (I didn't look into sources so excuse me if i misunderstand it.) It's pretty much is only going to be used with server-side modded only setups, but its exactly what i'm working in most frequently unfortunately.

I tried to work around the issue with adding ViaVersion to the proxy but it seems to be currently broken somewhere in between Velocity Via and ViaFabricPlus.

Everything is convoluted (sry i haven't slept) but here is what i expected to happen.
So my goal was, to have LODs on 26.1.2 clients when connecting to 1.21.11 servers via ViaFabricPlus. And i expected Voxy Server versions to work between 1.1.5 to 1.2.1 and send LODs.

post 1.2.0 in voxyserver, the lod packet format changed so I could add content hashing. so backwards compatibility isn’t possible with any version older than 1.2.0

I know its probably a lot to ask, but if it's not too much work/bothersome would it possible for you to backport those changes to 1.21.11 and bump up the version for it? Ik i should just bump my server's version instead but im stuck on 1.21.11 due to other mods not being updated yet.
