Add Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and Code of Conduct pages
- New pages at /privacy-policy/, /terms-of-use/, /code-of-conduct/, rendered through the existing generic single.html layout (no new template needed — the blog-specific bits there are already gated behind isBlog) - Link all three from the footer's existing (previously unused) .footer-legal slot, alongside the social icons - Wire up the two references to these documents that already existed on the site: the "Privacy Policy" mention in the Contact Us consent text, and the "Code of Conduct" card in Mission & Vision's Dive Deeper section (was a disabled "Coming soon" card, now a real link) - Fix the Terms of Use page's own "[Privacy Policy]" reference to point at the new page - Add light-theme styling for .footer-legal and linked text inside .contact-consent-text Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

## Our Pledge
9+
10+
The OurSQL Foundation is committed to providing a welcoming, respectful, and harassment-free experience for everyone who interacts with us through oursqlfoundation.org — whether you're reaching out through our Contact Us form, subscribing to or replying to our newsletter, or engaging with content we publish. We pledge to make participation in these interactions a positive experience for people of all backgrounds and levels of experience, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
11+
12+
## Our Standards
13+
14+
Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment include:
15+
16+
- Using welcoming and inclusive language.
17+
- Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences.
18+
- Gracefully accepting constructive feedback.
19+
- Focusing on what is best for the MySQL community and ecosystem as a whole.
20+
- Showing empathy and courtesy toward other community members.
21+
22+
Examples of unacceptable behavior include:
23+
24+
- Harassment, intimidation, or discriminatory jokes and language.
25+
- Personal or political attacks, insulting or derogatory comments, and trolling.
26+
- Public or private harassment of any kind.
27+
- Publishing others' private information (such as a physical or email address) without explicit permission.
28+
- Spam, deceptive, or fraudulent submissions through our forms or communications channels.
29+
- Any other conduct that could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting.
30+
31+
## Scope
32+
33+
This Code of Conduct applies to all interactions with the OurSQL Foundation conducted through oursqlfoundation.org and its official communication channels (such as the Contact Us form and newsletter correspondence). As the Foundation expands into additional community spaces (such as chat platforms or in-person events), separate or extended conduct guidelines may apply to those spaces.
34+
35+
## Enforcement Responsibilities
36+
37+
The OurSQL Foundation is responsible for clarifying and enforcing this Code of Conduct and will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior it deems inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.
38+
39+
## Reporting
40+
41+
If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please report it by emailing:
42+
43+
**contact@oursqlfoundation.org**
44+
45+
All reports will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly, and will be handled with discretion. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of anyone who reports an incident.
46+
47+
## Enforcement Guidelines
48+
49+
The OurSQL Foundation will follow these Community Impact Guidelines in determining the consequences for any action it deems in violation of this Code of Conduct:
50+
51+
1. **Correction** — A private, written warning, with clarity around the nature of the violation and an explanation of why the behavior was inappropriate.
52+
2. **Warning** — A warning with consequences for continued behavior, including no further interaction with those involved for a specified period.
53+
3. **Temporary restriction** — A temporary restriction from any form of interaction or communication with the OurSQL Foundation for a specified period.
54+
4. **Permanent restriction** — A permanent restriction from any form of public interaction with the OurSQL Foundation.
55+
56+
## Attribution
57+
58+
This Code of Conduct is adapted from the [Contributor Covenant](https://www.contributor-covenant.org), version 2.1, widely used across open-source communities and foundations.

9+
10+
## 1. Who We Are

17+
18+
For any questions about this policy or our data practices, contact us at **contact@oursqlfoundation.org**.
19+
20+
## 2. Information We Collect
21+

26+
27+
**Information collected automatically:**
28+
29+
- Usage and analytics data (such as pages visited, time on site, browser/device type, and referring pages) collected via Google Analytics and Plausible.
30+
- Cookies and similar technologies used for analytics and site functionality (see Section 4).
31+
32+
We do not knowingly collect more information than is necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
33+
34+
## 3. How We Use Your Information
35+
36+
We use the information we collect to:
37+
38+
- Respond to inquiries submitted through the Contact Us form.
39+
- Send newsletters and updates to subscribers, and manage those communications through Mailchimp.
40+
- Maintain and update contact and relationship records in our CRM.
41+
- Understand how visitors use the Site and improve its content and performance, using Google Analytics and Plausible.
42+
- Process form submissions collected via third-party form tools (such as Typeform or Google Forms) for specific initiatives (e.g., event registration, surveys, membership interest forms).
43+
- Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and property of the Foundation and others.
44+
45+
We do not sell your personal information.
46+
47+
## 4. Cookies and Analytics
48+
49+
Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies through Google Analytics and Plausible to understand how visitors interact with the Site. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect some Site functionality. Where required by applicable law, we will request your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
50+
51+
## 5. Third-Party Service Providers
52+
53+
We work with the following categories of third-party service providers, who process personal data on our behalf or as independent controllers, subject to their own privacy policies:
54+
55+
- **Google Analytics** — website analytics
56+
- **Plausible** — website analytics
57+
- **Mailchimp** — email newsletter delivery and management
58+
- **CRM provider** — contact and relationship management
59+
- **Typeform / Google Forms** (or similar) — specific form-based data collection (e.g., event registration, surveys)
60+
61+
We require that these providers use personal data only as necessary to provide their services to us.
62+
63+
## 6. Legal Basis for Processing (EU/EEA/UK Visitors)
64+
65+
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar requirements, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
66+
67+
- **Consent** — for example, when you subscribe to our newsletter or accept non-essential cookies.
68+
- **Legitimate interests** — for example, to respond to inquiries, understand Site usage, and maintain our contact records, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.
69+
- **Legal obligation** — where processing is necessary to comply with the law.
70+
71+
## 7. Your Privacy Rights
72+
73+
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
74+
75+
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
76+
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
77+
- Request deletion of your personal data.
78+
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
79+
- Request a portable copy of your data.
80+
- Withdraw consent at any time (e.g., unsubscribe from the newsletter), without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
81+
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
82+
83+
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at **contact@oursqlfoundation.org**. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
84+
85+
## 8. International Data Transfers
86+
87+
The OurSQL Foundation is based in the United States, and the third-party providers listed above may process data in the United States or other countries. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK, or other jurisdictions with data transfer restrictions, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) as required by applicable law.
88+
89+
## 9. Data Retention
90+
91+
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe; contact form submissions are retained as needed to respond to and document your inquiry.
92+
93+
## 10. Children's Privacy
94+
95+
The Site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
