This ticket tracks the workflow for adding references to a collection from outside the context of that collection (e.g., from search results, another repository, or concept discovery views).

Entry Points

Users can add references to a collection from:

1. Search Across Organizations/Collections - Find concepts through search and add them as references to a target collection
2. User Discovery/View from Collections - View concept details from one or more collections and add them as references to another collection

Workflow Steps

1. Select Concept(s)

• Select concepts individually from search results or repository views, OR
• Select all concepts in the entire repository

2. Select Target Collection

• Choose the collection where references will be added
• User may or may not be currently viewing this collection

3. Quick Add Reference (Streamlined Path)

• Quick Add Reference to Collection provides a streamlined process for simple reference additions
• Minimal configuration required
• Focus on speed and simplicity for common use cases

4. Configure Reference Options (Optional)

• Cascade method: Specify how to handle related concepts (children, descendants, depth)
• Transform method: Define any transformations to apply
• Version locking: Set whether to lock references to specific versions

5. Preview Results

• Review the references that will be added before submission
• View what will be created with the selected configuration
• Validation of selections

6. Submit

• Add the references to the target collection
• Confirmation of successful addition
