SignalForge as a signal generator?

If we ever consider using more complex signals as a testing signals we might want to have a look at this package : https://github.com/GiulioCurti/SignalForge

Rather than to develop something ourselves

Which might allow us to simply use more complex non stationary signals. Could e.g. also be a tutorial notebook.

Sorry for the late reply, I was busy getting married at the time and GitHub notifications got lost.

This being said, these are all nice suggestions, and could both be easily introduced with extensions through namespace package (unfortunately or fortunately) implemented in the pre-PEP420 spirit.

This way, a user that wants the pyExSi integration could do:

pip install py-fatigue[py-ex-si]

In the same way, it could be possible to do:

pip install py-fatigue[signal-forge]

Currently, as a signal generator used mainly for testing, py-fatigue contains this function: get_random_data. It is no less than a numpy RangomGenerator, i.e.:

The Generator provides access to a wide range of distributions, and served as a replacement for RandomState. The main difference between the two is that Generator relies on an additional BitGenerator to manage state and generate the random bits, which are then transformed into random values from useful distributions. The default BitGenerator used by Generator is PCG64. The BitGenerator can be changed by passing an instantized BitGenerator to Generator.
