Historical hackathon artifact. This is the Tech for Good 2026 event checklist, kept for record — it does not reflect current project status. See ROADMAP.md for what's actually shipped, in progress, and planned today.

CODESTREAK — milestones

Tick a box when it is true. Edit this file on GitHub (pencil icon, top right), change - [ ] to - [x], commit. That is all — we read it from here, so you never have to tell anybody separately.

We check this live during the weekend. If a box is not ticked we assume it is not done, and a mentor or organiser may come and ask why. That is the point of it: the earlier somebody notices you are stuck, the more of the weekend is left to fix it.

The reasoning behind each one, and what to cut if you are behind, is at https://t4g.gdgcbe.com/milestones

Before Saturday

  • Every member can open this repo and push to it
  • Anyone under 18 has a guardian consent form submitted
  • Scaffolding runs on every member’s machine — repo, framework, keys, a hello-world
  • One conversation with a real user of our problem, written down in this repo
  • The one thing we will demo, written in a single sentence we all agree on

Saturday

  • 1:00 PM — architecture decided and in the README, and a commit from every member
  • 5:00 PM — the core path works end to end on one happy input
  • 5:00 PM — we can say in one sentence what our tool does when it is not sure
  • 7:00 PM — talked to a mentor, wrote down what they said, and dropped something
  • Midnight — the hard part works, on twenty real records rather than our three examples
  • Midnight — everything is pushed. Nobody’s work exists only on a laptop

Sunday

  • 6:00 AM — feature freeze. Only fixes, polish and the demo from here
  • 9:00 AM — deployed somewhere reachable, or a laptop build that survives a restart
  • 9:00 AM — demo script written and run once with a timer
  • 11:00 AM — run twice more, once by someone who did not build that part
  • 11:00 AM — README says what it does, what it cannot do, and who it is for

Coding stops at 12:00 noon on Sunday 9 August. That deadline does not move.
