The DataStream API includes the method GetGreyscaleBlob().
This result in an object of type VectorVectorUchar.
It is still unclear how to get the data from this object. Maybe the swig wrapping must be tweaked.

The definition of the class Output_GetGreyscaleBlob in C++ ist the following:

I assume you mean the output of the java method public VectorVectorUchar getBlobLinePixelValues().
It is the generated getter of the following field of the C++ class above:
std::vector< std::vector< unsigned char > > BlobLinePixelValues;

std::vector< std::vector< unsigned char > > is mapped to VectorVectorUchar.
As I understand it, it is the representation of all lines of pixels of the GreyscaleBlob.

VectorVectorUchar has a method get(int index) which returns a VectorUchar.
As I understand it, it is the representation of all pixels of one single line at "index" of the GreyscaleBlob.

VectorUchar has a method get(int index) which returns a Short.
I don't know why the unsigned char is not mapped to byte, but ist should not be a problem.
As I understand it, the Short is the representation of one single pixel at "index" of the given line where its color is represented by values ranging in between 0-255. 0/255 should therefore represent black/white.

I am not sure, what a greyScaleBlob actually is.
But assuming it is some type of image as I did above, I would need the target image format to achieve a proper conversion.
