Has there been any discussion about incorporating a web of trust / reputation system to filter the ratings? I see that there is a checkbox for first connections, which I presume is supposed to exclude ratings by anyone I'm not following, but it doesn't appear to be functioning for me.

Yes that would be amazing. There's already a lot of work done in nostr for WoT, someone just needs to implement it here. This repo is pending a big refresh. Feel free to submit PRs, otherwise I'll get to it when I get to it

Are you logged in with an extension and its still not working?

Yup. I've tried it with Alby on Brave and nos2x on Chrome. In both cases the two scrollbars and the Mint Type and Units checkboxes appear to be functioning but toggling the Connections checkbox does nothing on the page. I do see Connected to NDK in the console each time I check or uncheck.

Cool. I think nostr needs to develop a marketplace of third party personalized WoT score providers. I know of two existing potential options, one of which I am building, called Brainstorm. Anyone can run an Brainstorm instance, which will calculate personalized WoT metrics for the instance owner as well as a list of friends or customers of the owner.

The question I am currently focused on is this: once personalized scores are calculated (which is the hard part), how do we deliver them to the nostr clients that need them, like bitcoinmints? Several options exist, but the one I am currently exploring is @vitorpamplona's NIP-85: Trusted Assertions. I have a short description of Trusted Assertions at my experimental Brainstorm instance (including links to Vitor's PR), and I think it would be perfect for bitcoinmints. I have a handful of beta testers signed up whose scores have been calculated and published to this NIP-85 relay repo in the form of kind 30382 events, which means they're readily available for ingestion by nostr clients.

I'd love to get feedback from devs whether the NIP-85 system is a good one or not. I've looked at the bitcoinmints repo and thought about submitting a PR, although for the time being I still have a lot of work to do on the Brainstorm repo. There are two other devs who just started work incorporating these scores into their projects, but the more the better! I'd love to discuss how exactly the incorporation of these scores could work if you're interested.
