KooL's Dots version
v2.3.25
Description
First of all thank you for this project. I have been using this hyprland setup for a year and I love it.
I updated my OS from 24.04 to 26.04. I tried to download the new LinuxBeginnings/Ubuntu-Hyprland but it just won't work. I tried many many things, removing files, packages, configs, install, re-install, there is no way.
I only post what I think is most relevant. Let me know if I am missing something obvious or you need more specifics.
When it finishes it just tells some packages could not be installed, hyprland hyprlock, hypridle among them.
The first error I find is:
[ERROR] liblz4-dev failed to install. Please check the install.log. You may need to install it manually. Sorry, I have tried :(
[INFO] Installing libwayland-dev ... Done!
[ERROR] libwayland-dev failed to install. Please check the install.log. You may need to install it manually. Sorry, I have tried :(
[INFO] wayland-protocols is already installed. Skipping...
[WARN] wayland.xml not found; attempting to install wayland-protocols.
[INFO] wayland-protocols is already installed. Skipping...
[WARN] wayland.xml still missing; building wayland-protocols from source.
packages seem to be installed:
- liblz4-dev 1.10.0-8
- libwayland-dev1.24.0-2
- wayland-protocols 1.47-1
I found I could run this script directly ./install-scripts/hyprland-ppa-enable.sh , but it fails this way:
[NOTE] hypridle not available from PPA for this release; skipping
[NOTE] hyprlock not available from PPA for this release; skipping
[NOTE] hyprwayland-scanner not available from PPA for this release; skipping
[NOTE] xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland not available from PPA for this release; skipping
[NOTE] PPA-based Hyprland installation completed.```
I have not found how to install from package. Installing from ppa works but I think it installs an older release:
./install-scripts/hyprland-ppa.sh
- hyprland 0.55.4-1ppa6~1resolute
I tried branch 26.04 and 26.04-development with similar results. Also running the curl auto-install.sh fails because of a typo:
fatal: Remote branch 26.04-devlopment not found in upstream origin
I wonder if something went wrong upgrading my Ubuntu to 26.04. Plain gnome desktop works but it is driving me crazy because I keep trying the hyprland shortcuts.
What can I do ? Thanks
How to reproduce
git clone --depth=1 -b 26.04 https://github.com/LinuxBeginnings/Ubuntu-Hyprland.git ~/Ubuntu-Hyprland
cd Ubuntu-Hyprland/
./install.sh
install logs, images or videos
