merging some of these ideas into openpiv

the repo popped up again in my github page and I recall that we wanted to discuss some option to merge your ideas into openpiv-python. Thanks for mentioning us on the README, we did improved quite a lot since then. So, maybe we shall talk?

it's been a while since i've touched this code and I've grown a lot as a programmer since.

My honest expectation is that openPIV, with its much larger contributor base, will have more robust versions of anything I came up with. Just on quick look I already see some things i would have LOVED to have at the time of doing the research behind this repo.

Is there anything in this repo that jumps out at you as a feature not already in openPIV?

Thanks for replying. I think all the vortex stuff would be nice to have - e.g. create synthetic set of images of a specific vortex type, then analyze it through openpiv and post-process to locate these vortices and quantify them, comparing to the ground truth. More of the kind of making openpiv more useful for the fluid mechanics research
