[Bug] Connecting to an invalid device should show an error message

Summary

When the connection is to a serial port that is not a USB to LCC device, it appears that the connection worked, but it doesn't, of course, show any nodes, as there are no nodes.

Steps to reproduce

1. Create a connection for a LCC Buffer
2. Select the serial port attached to an ESP32
3. Click connect

Expected behavior

Displays an error message saying it couldn't connect and why not.

Actual behavior

The connect button shows green, but it didn't actually connect.
