I need to set up an API, but I don't know how—could you help me?

Hi @senolfndk — you are in the right place, and you are almost done. Two fields left on that form:

• Application description — anything you like, it is only for Last.fm's records. Mine says "Local desktop music player, artist metadata enrichment".
• Callback URL — leave it empty. WaveFlow signs in with your Last.fm username and password directly (auth.getMobileSession), so it never uses the web callback flow. That field only matters for websites.

Submit the form and Last.fm gives you an API key and a Shared secret. Then in WaveFlow:

1. Settings → Connections → Connected services → Last.fm
2. Paste the API key and the Shared secret, then Save.
3. To scrobble, sign in just below with your normal Last.fm username and password.

You can check it worked from last.fm → Settings → Applications: WaveFlow appears there under Connected Applications once step 3 goes through.

Step 3 is only needed for scrobbling, with the key alone you already get artist biographies and better similar-artist suggestions.

One thing worth knowing: if you only want artist biographies and would rather not deal with the API at all, you can switch the source to TheAudioDB under Settings → Images and lyrics → Artist biographies. It needs no key and it is available in more languages than Last.fm's, which are English only.
