VERSION is 0.8.0 in packaging/version.env, the README phrase and the newest CHANGELOG heading; CODENAME stays Eyrie. The heading date, 2026-09-29, is the intended publication date set by the founder, not the commit date. The 0.8.0 section states that the only change from 0.8.0-rc.6 is this version and points to the rc.6 section for the release notes, upgrade notes and known limitations. Nothing else changes.
