If you go on the GUI Network Dashboard on BGP Neighbor ? there is an error ?
Do you have an other FGT50G ? with same/different firmware ?

if you are using the URI https://X.X.X.X:443/api/v2/monitor/router/bgp/neighbors? on the browser ? get also 500 error ?

i get a feedback with an other people with 50G (but 7.0.x firmware) get also error 500...

Issue: PowerFGT BGP API Call Issue

You were trying to run the API to retrieve the BGP neighbors information from FGT 50G on 7.4.9.



The API was returning with an error 500.



We checked on CLI and noticed that there is no info comes when running the command :



# get router info bgp neighbors


When we checked on CLI on 7.2.12, it returns with the following message :



# get router info bgp neighbors

% No neighbor exist


I also tested in lab on 7.6.4 and no output shows when running command.



You could not remove the command from set of commands in API call. You wanted me to check with internal team if we can get it resolved.



You will also check with the API owner to remove the command.

What I understand is that the command "get router info bgp neighbors" should normally return an output such as “% No neighbor exist” when there are no BGP peers configured.

However, in FortiOS 7.4.9 and later, the behavior has changed.
Instead of displaying the message, the command now returns a blank output when no BGP neighbors are present.

This seems to be an updated behavior in the newer OS versions which return error in API call.

This is my assumption but you can check it.
