From 8050a156cea27f9a42d72b67d77c019f8243ae4b Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Zach Vorhies Date: Fri, 16 Oct 2026 01:41:20 -0700 Subject: [PATCH] fix(install): restore [build-system] dropped in #1683 The pyproject cleanup in #1683 deleted the [build-system] table along with the setuptools sections, so pip fell back to setuptools' default backend and `pip install .` failed with 'Multiple top-level packages discovered'. Verified: cold pip install . (full cargo build) succeeds; warm reinstalls 3.0-5.7 s on a loaded machine; fbuild runs and fbuild._native imports. --- pyproject.toml | 10 ++++++++++ 1 file changed, 10 insertions(+) diff --git a/pyproject.toml b/pyproject.toml index c5ac5ee2..c7a4b5e8 100644 --- a/pyproject.toml +++ b/pyproject.toml @@ -47,6 +47,16 @@ cache-keys = [ { file = "crates/**/Cargo.toml" }, ] +# In-tree backend (ci/build_backend.py): no build requirements, so pip's +# isolated build env is empty, and the wheel is written in one stored pass. +# It calls the globally installed `soldr cargo` executable.
