From 65d02a23743fa42c98c956dc60e947699f754026 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Kacper Paczos Date: Mon, 24 Aug 2026 13:24:17 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] fix: try symbolic icon names before full-colour ones for the install row get_available_icon_name takes the first name the active icon theme has, and INSTALL_PACKAGE_ICON_NAMES put full-colour system-software-install in front of install-symbolic. Breeze has no system-software-install-symbolic but does have install-symbolic, so KDE users got a full-colour icon in an otherwise monochrome list - symbolic icons follow the text colour, full-colour ones do not, which makes the odd one out very visible. Adwaita resolves the first name as before. --- src/utils.rs | 8 +++++++- 1 file changed, 7 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-) diff --git a/src/utils.rs b/src/utils.rs index 20f3743..98ac9a1 100644 --- a/src/utils.rs +++ b/src/utils.rs @@ -144,10 +144,16 @@ pub const APPLICATIONS_ICON_NAMES: &[&str] = &[ "application-x-executable", "system-run-symbolic", ]; +// Symbolic candidates first, a full-colour name only as the last resort: +// get_available_icon_name takes the first name the theme has, and a +// full-colour icon sitting mid-list shadows a symbolic one further down. +// Breeze lacks system-software-install-symbolic but has install-symbolic, +// so the old order gave KDE users a full-colour icon in a monochrome list. pub const INSTALL_PACKAGE_ICON_NAMES: &[&str] = &[ "system-software-install-symbolic", - "system-software-install", "install-symbolic", + "download-symbolic", + "system-software-install", ]; pub const ADD_ICON_NAMES: &[&str] = &["list-add-symbolic", "list-add"]; pub const REMOVE_ICON_NAMES: &[&str] = &["list-remove-symbolic", "list-remove"];
