Blank tooltip appears when "Show tooltips" is set to off

If "Show tooltips when hovering over task buttons" under "Behavior" in the settings is turned off, a blank tooltip still appears.

Tested on version 2.0.2-dev, running Kubuntu 26.04 (Plasma 6.6.5).

This might be related to this other issue, since I was experiencing those dots/artifacts on the public release, but don't see them on the dev version—but now see the full-sized tooltip (just blank). I suspected they had something to do with tooltips still trying to appear, though I could certainly be wrong.

Thanks for reporting this. I've fixed the issue where blank tooltip frames appeared when tooltips were disabled in settings.

The fix is now available in the develop branch. Please test the latest version when you get a chance and let me know if it works as expected!

I updated and it seems mostly fixed. Oddly, when I first change the setting (i.e., untick the "Show tooltips" box) and hit apply, the bug still occurs. I found that once I restarted Plasma or logout, then no tooltip artifact appears.
