Brief summary
When iGPU only is enabled (switching from dGPU only) in BIOS the first boot into Qubes works normally.
On every following boot the screen is not initialized and stays black.
The behavior differs from OS to OS though.
Booting into a normal Arch Linux the display gets initialized once the Linux boots (but not before!).
Booting into Qubes (with blacklisted noveau driver) the display stays turned off.
Connecting an external monitor via HDMI or USB-C gives the same behavior.
How reproducible
Happened once to me, can try again in the weekend.
How to reproduce
Enable iGPU only (dGPU -> iGPU). Boot more than once.
Expected behavior
The screen turns on right on the beginning.
Actual behavior
Stays off.

Additional context
The GPU selection setting is not reset if the CMOS battery is removed (or I didn't wait long enough)!
That is really annoying, because with a black screen it is really annoying to switch back to dGPU or MUXed GPU.
For anyone running into this issue:
The easiest solution is hammering F2 to get into the menu, then navigate blind with the arrow keys into each menu, reset settings to defaults with F9 and repeat:
down, enter, F9, y, esc, down, enter F9, y, ...
Do this until you are sure you reset the Power settings to default.
Finally F10 and y to save settings. Then reset with power button.
